19th Century French Gilt Bronze Jewelry Box
Gorgeous antique French jewelry box is made from gilt bronze and features a scene of cherub feeding birds on front and back side of the box. This casket is pretty heavy and in nice large size. It stands on four ornate feet. The high quality of things is indicated not only their visible parts, but especially the details that are hidden from the eyes - the bottom shows an elegant repousse pattern. The lid has a few cracks and its two of three hinges are broken, so the box needs careful handling. Overall it is in good condition with light gilt loose from the time.
