Here is a handsome pair of vintage Abraham Lincoln bookends dating to the 1930s–1950s. They are cast in a solid metal (likely spelter or cast iron) and finished with a warm bronzed copper patina that has developed natural age and character over time. Each one is sculpted in a classic bust form, showing Lincoln in his bow tie and coat, with great detailing in the hair and beard.
The bases show some green oxidation from age, which is typical for older copper-plated finishes and adds to the period look. The backs are hollow-cast, as was common for bookends produced during this era. They display beautifully and have a timeless Americana presence. Perfect for a study, office, library shelf, or as a collectible presidential accent.
