The design showcases a series of raised, textured flowers and leaves arranged symmetrically along the arms of the cross, giving it a detailed and dimensional appearance. The material appears to be either terracotta or iron with a distressed patina. The piece is very heavy and we lean more to thinking it is iron. The back is free from marquetry and appears to be a large piece of metal. A hanging wire is attached at the top. This piece was sourced from an estate sale in rural Oaxaca Mexico, known for blending intricate designs with Catholic symbolism and colonial styles. There are no stamps or maker marks.
