This magnificent middle desk, made during the Napoleon III era in the mid-19th century, is a perfect example of the elegance and refinement of a late Louis XV style.
Designed in mahogany and rosewood, it stands out for its careful details and exceptional craftsmanship.
The desk opens with three drawers, one of which is wider and another compartmentalized.
The drawer fronts are in rosewood veneer arranged in four leaves, surrounded by gadrooned bronze rods.
Each drawer is equipped with authentic and functional locks with entry and key.
The sides and back of the piece of furniture are shaped in the same spirit as the drawers, offering perfect visual harmony.
The top of the desk is highlighted by a brass ingot mold and dressed in black leather with a central gold motif, adding a touch of luxury.
The whole rests on four curved legs decorated with astragals, descending to hooves decorated with acanthus leaves, testifying to the attention paid to details.
This desk is not only a functional piece of furniture, but also a collector's item that reflects the art and culture of its time.
