Johann Christoph Volkamer (1644–1720) was a renowned botanist from Nuremberg, best known for his two-volume work Nürnberg Hesperides, which showcases a variety of citrus fruits, including citron, lemon, and bitter orange, along with depictions of Nuremberg's gardens and landscapes. The term "Hesperides" refers to the "blissful garden" from Greek mythology. Pomo d'Adamo (Adam's Apple) refers to a citron hybrid with various interpretations of its origin.
