It's base colors are just lovely and then add on the applied flowers, leaves, berries and squirrels and it's quite a piece of art. Yes, squirrels ! This is why I could not pass this beautiful piece up when I spotted it in an antique shop in Savannah GA. Usually you see birds, but I have never once seen applied squirrels. Probably from the 1960s per the antique shop owners. It is like Barbotine but a harder stoneware. Three way switch. One of the things I love to find on old vintage lamps is when the knob to turn it on is solid brass and not plastic. This one is solid brass. Selling without a shade because this could take so many types of shades. I think navy would be pretty and you can't go wrong with a traditional white. Even some of the now popular print shades would be pretty. I put one of my own shades on it just for an idea but you can add any shape or color you prefer. Three of the leaves had portions chipped off so we had a professional pottery restoration artist replace the missing chips and pieces. I am pretty confident that if I did not tell you this you would not have even known but I always try to be accurate on condition. See less
