A Scandinavian Modern vase designed by Olle Alberius as part of the Sarek Series, produced by Rörstrand of Sweden in the 1960s and 70s. The midcentury cylindrical vase is decorated inside and out with a neutral matte glaze of mottled light taupe brown. The outer decor consists of incised geometric motifs created from striking combinations and clusters of circles and straight lines. The vintage vase remains in very good, undamaged condition, measuring 8.75 inches height x 3.5 inches diameter. Fully marked on base Rörstrand / Sweden / OA [for Olle Alberius] / Sarek.
Olle Alberius (1926–1993) was a leading 20th century designer, glass artist, and ceramicist working for Swedish firms including Syco (1957-1965), Rörstrand (1963-1971), and Orrefors Glasbruk (from 1971). Alberius' work is included in the collections of the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design
