Country of collection: Redruth, Cornwall, England.
While on a sourcing trip to the southwest of England I spotted an antique shop spilling over with treasures and within it was this teapot! The muddy, neutral color mat based bisque and texture of this petite Japanese teapot contrasts with the bright, glossy colored enamel flora and fauna. Along with gold flecks is has a multi color range of reds, yellows, apricot, turquoise and purple adorning the body of the piece. The lidded handle is a twisted braid.and is removable, as well as the included tea strainer. The vessel is clean throughout with no stains or chips. Makers mark is an imprint, after research it is determined it is "Banko Ware".
This vessel would look great amongst Asian inspired or traditional English decor style, or added
to your collection. Make this a "keeper" in your home!
