A lovely pair of enameled porcelain elephant candleholders on rosewood bases. Feature beautiful hand-painted detailing throughout including floral motif, Chinese fretwork design and flying cranes. The porcelain candleholders can be separated from the rosewood bases. Good vintage condition; some signs of wear and use. One of the bases has a foot repair. It is not overly apparent and structurally it stands soundly. One of the horns on one of the elephants appears to be missing a point, but it is fully glazed so it is assumed this was intentional by the artist. These pieces are marked "Macaw" on the bottom of the rosewood bases.
