A large and most impressive Southeast Asian carved giltwood figure of a horse and mounted rider.
Early 20th Century, likely from Burma (present day Myanmar) or Thailand, possibly Hind temple guardian sculpture, hand carved and lacquer gilded solid teak wood, the exceptionally executed figural carving depicting Nat spirit figure seated in a saddle, holding the reins in his right hand, horse, both the rider and horse elaborately decorated with applied colorful cut glass jewels.

Very good antique condition with nicely aged warm patina. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Attractive appearance, retaining original character and charm, overall intact with age appropriate wood splits, evidence of old restoration at horse's tail, worn finish, all wear commensurate with age, use, handling and exposure.
