This chair is a copy of a Philadelphia Chippendale Gothic back armchairs which was popular about the time of the American Revolution. I love the needlepoint seat. Chair is in very good condition and retains its original finish. The finish could possibly be cleaned a little but it displays as having a nice warm patina. The seat could use some padding! Its a lot like sitting on a wooden seat! Chair stands 40" tall and it 27 1/2" wide at the arms and 23" deep at the knees. The seat height is 18". This pattern chair was very popular and made by many makers. If you have a set and need an armchair this will match up pretty well. This would also make a good desk chair or just an armchair in a study or living room. See less
