Vintage desk or dining table trestle base of chromed and enameled steel by Hugh Acton. Heavy, solid bar steel base could easily be used with marble or heavy glass tops. The Hugh Acton Company used this style of base with a variety of tops, including a teak desk top and custom tops for commercial clients like banks. Last photo shows a 1964 company ad featuring the same "I-frame" style base with a solid top. The base is tagged with a "Central Bank and Trust" inventory tag. Note: Glass top shown not included.
The metal discs that support the top are 60 inches wide and 24 inches deep and 27.75 high.
