Artifort Oyster F157 easy chair attributed to Pierre Paulin
Original Artifort design from 1960, documented in the 1964 Goed Wonen catalogue with the chair and designer pictured.
This is an original Re-issue by Artifort ( they started this in 1999 ) with a chromed metal base. Exact this frame type is pictured in their brochure ( so without the side supports ) Literature Source : Artifort product sheet from 2000: “Beechwood shell, upholstered. Base chromed or coated.”
Condition: Very good chrome, no cracks in the frame. Upholstery foam feels good and may be reusable. Current blue Skai upholstery is not original and shows significant signs of use. Ideal for reupholstery. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
