Even more beautiful when they are yours! I simply cannot put into words how lovely this set is. Each figure is classical sculpted and oozes the right amount of perfect alabaster light off of their surface. They sit gracefully atop the most beautiful golden gilt pedestals. And, are topped with elegant ever-so-slightly-off-white bell shaped shades, which have been trimmed ever so delicately with matching bric-brac trim.

I have attempted, without success, to locate another set similar in theme. Most Blanc de Chine is of an asian scheme, while the rest is either Putti style Cherubs or Elizabethan in style with elaborately dressed subjects in rather high class settings. This set wears more modest and relaxed peasant style attire, while merely appearing to be engaged in a simple discussion. They are both so enchantingly unassuming!!! Which makes this set so unique and endearing. They would be perfect in a multitude of todays interior decorating schemes. . from Shabby Chic, Modern Farmhouse or the beloved Chinoiserie styled interiors.

This set is constructed in Marbo Lamp Company fashion, with the Porcelain Figures appearing to have been made first, hand selected as a matching pair, then their bases created to match. Examples of this kind of construction are evident in the way the figures bottoms match irregularly to the lamp bases . . . with some mild over extensions around the edges where they meet up.

Each lamp is 28 inches tall from the bottom of each base to the top of the finialed harp.
Their bases measure a substantial 8 inches in diameter. See less
