It is the work of Desire Guilmard (1810-1885) who published works that promoted French styles in furniture, fabrics and interior designs. This image is tinted with neutral color hues. It features a "Chambre A Coucher" or bedroom. Note the intricate detailing in the surrounding wall panels that feature vignettes of cherubs, musical instruments and ancient classical references. The center design features an elaborate bed tucked inside an alcove with draped fabrics. The image is clean and in excellent antique condition. Minor faint discoloration is noted on side borders, easily matted out with framing. Full gravure measures 12.25 x 18 inches; the outlined image exclusive of border and documentation measures 8.25 x 13 inches. See less
