This wonderful piece of art belongs to an edition of the late 19th century. Good conditions with minor foxing. Superb etching through deft strokes, strong mastery in expression through an impression of virtuous old master's touch. Rembrandt known simply as Rembrandt (Leiden, 15 July 1606 - Amsterdam, 4 October 1669), was a Dutch painter and engraver. He is generally considered to be one of the greatest painters in European art history. Having achieved great success as a portrait painter from a young age. His drawings and paintings were already popular during his lifetime. Rembrandt's greatest creative triumphs are especially evident in the portraits of his contemporaries, his self-portraits, and illustrations of scenes from the Bible.
