I believe it could serve as a door knocker or, more likely, as a large clip, given that the hinge is very tight, similar to a clothespin. There are no identifying marks, but it would make a lovely addition to any cast iron collection.

The condition shows what I would consider normal wear, with only a very minor splotch of light green paint right under the owl's nose, which is hardly noticeable. It measures 4 inches by 2.25 inches. This wise old owl would look great on a wall, a door, or even perched on a desk—definitely a cast iron collectible!

Most of the items come estate fresh and have only been lightly cleaned, preserving all the original patina. Signs of vintage age and wear should be expected. We've included up-close photos as part of our description—it’s so cool! See less
