It is a matted original antique 1903 colored chromolithograph from a French Beaux-Arts portfolio of 4 volumes of "Encyclopedie de la Plante", an “artistique” and “documentaire” collection of botanical plates. Features the “Anthurium". Signed by illustrator in the lower left. This image has wonderful rich textured colors of warm reds and greens set on a smokey muted neutral background. The dark painterly background adds a richness and quality which adds interest and makes the image quite dramatic and unique. There is a beautiful depth of detail with highlights of green tones in the plant stems and leaves. Clean and pristine. 11 x 14 inches. Comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for standard size frame. Please see companion botanicals from this series in our shop. See less
