An English 19th century stoneware Brandy dispenser, used in a pub back in the day, with a crusty old finish. … Read more An English 19th century stoneware Brandy dispenser, used in a pub back in the day, with a crusty old finish. At some point, it was painted over and now has remnants of the old paint and the original raw Sienna glaze showing through. It has great applied decoration, including a central coat arms under the name, clusters of grapes above, knights on horseback on both sides and more. An old cork is a stopper on the lid and in the bottom is another cork plug that once held a spigot. The crock has a few chips along the top rim but given its age, circa 1850, it is in remarkably good condition and with its decoration, makes an impressive statement. See less
