This unusual vintage James Peade for Drexel Furniture company has great weight and is a newly upholstered side chair with wonderful period wheels. Called the Abacus chair. This has been attributed to Milo Baughman in other references. It is chrome over stainless steel. It has been newly upholstered with an off white /white textural weave. There is a loose back cushion and the top cushion has a zipper with all original design. The seat cushion with the pillow back is 17.5" D. The seat height is 18" H. The new upholstery was done around 12 years ago. This side chair is all about the look.
We have never seen another one around. From the 1960's.
This could also be re-upholstered with a high back cushion to make it more comfortable.
It is our understanding that even at time in the 60's there was a very very limited edition of these chairs made.
