This is an outstanding rosewood and king wood commode of the finest possible quality. The bronzes are decadent and beautifully polished to reveal a bright gold Dore' finish. The case has been professionally French-polished and restored to its original opulence and magnificence. This is a superb piece and evokes and era when all things were possible in the world of cabinetry and art. This was made by Maison Roudillion for Alavoine & co. The marble top is in good original condition and is rare Breche Violette which is a highly prized and rare form of marble. The piece dates to the 1880s and is signed. The commode has been professionally French-polished, and all bronze has been professionally cleaned.
