This antique, oak quarter-sawn, carved rocker is from the Arts and Crafts Movement (late 1800’s-early 1900’s), when traditional craftsmanship, artistic, hand-carved details and unique pieces were prized over mass production. Notice the carved foliate and the geometric relief patterns on its backrest—and the large, bulbous designed legs—definitely in the style of George Arndt!
The rocker is extremely sturdy and well-built— I wish I’d look this good after 135 years of age! ;)
It has a smooth rocking motion, too.
