The French vendor told us they are plates from a botanical album published in France in the later part of the 19th century. The images have the printer imprints on the borders. Although the markings are very thin and difficult to see on the photos, they are evident. The images each have the J L Prevost name imprint as well. J L Prevost was a still-life painter, best known for his flower arrangements. His works were not meant to be scientific references but they are indeed accurate and precise in their elaborate detailing. Zoom in to see this. Prevost's works were often used as inspiration for textile and ceramic patterns. This grouping of a set of 3 lithographs showcase floral bouquets. They are pristine with vivid strong color. They are in excellent antique condition. They measure 11.75 x 16 inches in size, edge to edge. We are offering them as a set of 3.
