A 19th century French boite à sel, or salt box, hand-crafted of solid walnut with hinged lid and small dovetailed drawer. Clover leaf detail. Waxed finish. This box was used to store salt and pepper and would have been hung on the kitchen wall. Circa 1900-1910.
