Named after the Archduchess born in Vienna in 1717. I believe this pretty chandelier dates to the 1920's. The old European sockets have been replaced with new UL listed standard American style candelabra sockets. The original gold cloth wire on each arm was brittle and crumbling, it has also been replaced along with a thorough cleaning throughout.
I find no damage whatsoever and no missing prisms. However there are six scalloped "kite" shaped prisms which I believe are not original as the gold pin wire hangers are different. Please see the closeup photo, even so they blend nicely. Also, the ceiling canopy is long gone.
Each arm of the brass frame is cased in crystal pieces wired with rosette prisms and rock crystal beads. There are six scalloped cut crystal bobèches, a cut crystal scalloped central column and a cut crystal bottom bowl all of which are intact. It even has the original cased glass candle socket covers!
Absolutely dripping with stunning sparkly Bohemian crystals in different shapes: faceted almonds, curvy pendaloques, beveled kites and smooth round balls. So very elegant. On the petite side at 22 inches wide and 17 inches tall. Please feel free to ask questions...thanks for looking! See less
