A fine antique Chinese export silver vesta or matchsafe.
By Wang Hing & Co. of Hong Kong.
Decorated with a dragon to one side and bamboo leaves to the other.
With a push button clasp for the lid.
Marked to the interior of the lid with WH for Wang Hing / an artist's mark.
Simply a wonderful Chinese silver match safe!

The spring mechanism has good action releasing the lid. There is a small amount of play in the hinge. Otherwise, there is some highpoint wear, some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
