Turkish traditional Iznik tile with polychrome decoration of stylized flower designs in black, blue, green and turquoise on white background.
Mid 20th century Iznik pottery tile decorated with chrysanthemums and tulips.
Under the direction of ottoman Sultans, Iznik ceramics blended prestigious Chinese porcelain aesthetics with Ottoman and Islamic ideals to achieve the particular designs seen on the Iznik potteries.
