Antique blue and white Chinese hand turned and hand painted ceramic ginger jar with a wrap around scene portraying a lakeside village in cobalt blue under a grey-white glaze. Exquisite hand carved rosewood cover with a very detailed reticulated design.
No markings. This piece oozes with age.
Circa 1850.
Condition is very good with typical manufacturing (kiln) flaws including an internal firing hairline to underside (glazed over doesn't degrade integrity whatsoever).
A really nice antique piece that will look great in the home, a collection - as well as being useful!
