This heavy antique lead mortar is German. It has a gorgeous texture. The carved details, including a crest/coat of arms on either side, carry your eye around the piece. The tapered shape adds visual interest. There are two handles. Because this is lead, it should ONLY be used for decorative purposes.
It is in great antique condition, displaying some minor signs of wear, to be expected with a piece of this age, notably some oxidation and scratching (pictured). Structurally, it is in great shape. We think it wears its age beautifully.
The piece measures 4.75" high x 6" wide (with the handles) x 4.5" deep. It weighs 5.25 lbs., so it is quite heavy.
