The solid mahogany frame has been sanded, stained black and given a glossy lacquer finish. The seat cushion is newly upholstered.

The chair was manufactured by the English furniture manufacturer G.T. Rackstraw. This company specialized in producing high-quality furniture in the style of older eras. Unfortunately, the label was lost during restoration.
