Theree framed John Gould Fratercula Arctica lithographs c1863. Puffin chick being fed fish, Puffins fishing, and Puffins on cliff in background. Original hand-coloured lithograph by Henry Constantine Richter from the drawing by 'The Bird Man' John Gould for "Birds of Great Britain" published in London between 1862 and 1873. Printed by Taylor and Francis. Museum quality framing, gold wood frame, acid free rag w UV glass.
John Gould (1804-1881) employed the best lithographers to create large hand-coloured lithographs that are some of the finest bird illustrations ever done. Gould had an excellent eye for detail, and closely supervised the work of his lithographers.
