They have facial expressions … Read more Glamorous polychrome sculptural table lamps featuring two separate women each holding an orb/sphere with both hands. They have facial expressions that seem to communicate pleasant dispositions and appear to be content. The two fairly detailed female effigies are dressed in typical Indonesian garb of Bali in calf length crew neck long sleeve day dresses and booth are barefoot. They each have top of the head bun style coiffures which are painted black. They have a faux bois polychrome painted woodgrain finish and not until the writing of this description that we noticed that the two figures were not from real wood. The hand painted wood inferred woodgrain is created using several shades of dark brown and black and everything from the the neck to the puddled plinth style 7" round base is painted to appear like wood (except for their styled hair-dos). The lamps are sold with matching stylish petal bell shaped shades that have pale silver toned exteriors and pale gold soft back lining. There is no makers mark or signature but we have attributed this charming pair of table lamps to the prolific creations of James Mont.
