Marianne Wild Feldner was a German artist born in Munich, Germany in 1923.
In the 1940s, she studied design, painting, ceramics, and interior decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
She lived and worked as a painter and interior decorator in Paris, New York, Rome, and Munich, participating in numerous collective and solo art exhibitions in the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
She stayed in the United States between the 1950s and 1960s with her husband, from whom she inherited her surname, Hans Wild (1912-1969), a well-known photographer for Life magazine.
She traveled and worked in the United States, making an "across-the-ocean" journey with Hans and, through his contacts, managed to sell some paintings to celebrities and art enthusiasts such as Frank Sinatra and Truman Capote.
In the 1960s, Marianne separated from her husband and became more actively involved in art exhibitions in galleries across Europe, between Paris, Brussels, and Rome.
She signed as "Mawi" and eventually returned alone to the old continent to live in Rome. See less
