This drawing is a mid-century gem found among the estate of James Bone. It depicts two prostitutes in the Bahnhof (train station) in Frankfurt, Germany where he was stationed in the early 1950s. It is inscribed verso: "The Bahnhof, Two Whores, One a Transvestite."
From a group of works from Chicago artist James Frederic Bone (1929-2015)
Bone was born in Brownsville, Texas and moved to the Hyde Park section of Chicago, IL in the 1970s. He earned an MFA from the University of Arkansas.
