It origianlly appeared in a mid-century French haute couture magazine that catered to the most chic women of the time. It features a painterly illustration of a woman seated on a balcony. Note the lush, rich details of brush strokes on the fabrics and background of the image. Gruau is known for his strong use of color and his stylized fashion illustration. This image exemplifies his genius. Signed by Gruau in lower left. Pristine and clean with no age markings. 9 x 12.5 inches in size. Comes matted in a white 16 x 20 inch custom mat that is ready for a standard size frame. See less
