This very wide format print is based on a restored and very rare Antique German Constellation Map from 1849, and has bold lines and great lettering with an almost Modern feel.
This is the large 60" x 30" size - available in 40" x 20" in another listing. This is an unframed print.
About this map:
"The months marked at the foot of the map are to show the aspect of the Equatorial Heavens about midnight. By noting the stars on the map immediately over the name of the month, and then looking at the sky in the opposite direction to the elevated pole, the different constellations will readily be recognized. In Southern latitudes, reverse the map."
Printed on 100% cotton matte Somerset Velvet Fine Art Paper.
