Biography from Dobiaschofsky Auktionen, Bern
Henri Marcel Robert was born in 1881 Paris, France.
Robert attended the École des Arts Décoratifs and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1897-1903.
Between 1904 and 1950 he worked as a drawing and painting teacher at the Technikum of Friborg.
His oeuvre includes still lifes, portraits and landscapes of his adopted country and regions in Valais.
Henri Marcel Robert passed away in 1961.
My research was quite time consuming as every time I researched the name Henry Robert, it would redirect me to Robert Henry or H. Roberts. This is a beautiful piece of art framed in a magnificent carved silverish wooden frame. Both items together making it an impressive attraction for viewing in your home or office. I wonder...what are these two men whispering before they enter the what I understand to be the entrance to Notre - dame Cathedral. So you are probably wondering how do I know that these two men are whispering ...well... its because I can't hear them...
