A most functional piece of furniture, that's not just elegantly artistic, rustic and warm, but also provides endless storage and display options.

Hand-crafted in India during the British Raj Period (1858-1947), an interesting time in history when the British crown ruled over India, which saw the creation of a new and unique culturally blended era of decorative arts.

Showcasing a unique mix of traditional Indian styling, craftsmanship, and materials, influenced and almost certainly made for the refined and ornate British colonists taste. Believed to originate in the Bikaner region of northwestern India, dating to the turn of the late 19th / early 20th century, having a sturdy rectangular solid wood case with stepped molded cornice, over a pair of large cabinet doors fitted with the original glazed glass panel over distinctive large fan medallion and exotic fiolate reliefs, opening to display top-shelf over two blind-door shelves, above a pair of drawers, all generously sized and providing ample storage space. Simply detailed, having recessed paneled sides, plank boarded back, patinated brass hardware, European egg-and-dart carvings (typical of Edwardian era (1901-1910), scalloped skirt, rising on block feet.

Condition:
Good antique condition with nicely aged heavily worn warm rustic distressed patina. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Scrubbed or stripped like natural wood finish, retaining original antique character marks and charm throughout, including scattered nicks, chips, dings, losses and evidence of old fill. Wear consistent with age and use. Please note, top left front of cornice has some old damage, as well as minor old fill to the center and right cornice. Later magnetic door catches. Prior to shipping the cabinet will go through our workshop for overall inspection and minor touchups.
