Crafted in southern France circa mid-20th century, the decorative amphibian is beautifully modeled in a natural resting position, with its broad head slightly raised, prominent eyes, and four legs extending outward.

The substantial ceramic figure is finished in a rich emerald green glaze with darker black accents highlighting the sculpted contours, textured back, and individually defined toes. Its expressive eyes, outlined in cream and brown, give the frog a lifelike appearance, while the glossy glaze reveals subtle variations in color and texture. The underside is unglazed, exposing the natural terracotta construction and traditional ceramic craftsmanship.

Measuring two feet across, this unusual antique-style garden sculpture makes a striking decorative accent beside a pond, near a fountain, on a garden terrace, or in a sunroom. The combination of its generous proportions, realistic detailing, and vibrant green finish gives the piece a distinctive Provençal character.

The vintage frog is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and retains a rich, glossy green glaze with attractive dark patinated accents.
