An elegant vintage porcelain dessert and cake serving set for six guests, comprising six dessert plates and one larger matching cake or serving platter.
Each piece features an organic freeform silhouette in a deep chocolate brown glaze, enriched with delicate hand-applied 22K gold floral motifs and fine gilt trim. The softly squared shape and rich, tonal palette reflect the refined modernism of late-1960s to early-1970s tableware, blending mid-century organic form with the glamorous earth-tone elegance of the decade that followed.
Marked “77” on the underside, this code was commonly used by Japanese export workshops—particularly in the Seto or Nagoya regions—or by small Western European studios producing for international distribution. Each piece was individually glazed and finished, resulting in subtle variations and a luminous surface quality.
A beautiful and versatile set that complements Hollywood Regency, organic modern, or contemporary interiors, and a rare example of transitional design between mid-century and 1970s aesthetics.
