This is a very rare set of owl bookends in this fantastic green color. They are very heavy and beautifully modeled. They have the makers mark on the bottom with the artist’s initials HB for Harold Bopp. When Kenton Hills Porcelains was created in 1940 from some former Rookwood employees. These Rookwood employees started Kenton Hills because they felt that Rookwood could be more viable if they wholesaled to places like Saks, Gumps, and Tiffany’s, and many more high end places. They had a good business starting up with a lot of orders to fill, when the 2nd World War started and they couldn’t get what they needed for their glazes, so they had to close. They were open for only 2 years, there’s very few pieces out there for the collector. So they are very collectible and very rare. See less
