This Marilyn Lowe rare vintage 1981 lithograph print Surrealist Ankrum Gallery exhibition poster is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print poster is published by The Ankrum Gallery Los Angeles, printed in 1981 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created by the American 20th Century artist Marilyn Lowe.
The Ankrum Gallery was established in 1960 in Los Angeles by American film actress Joan Ankrum and William Challe. Ankrum was a visionary art dealer, representing many fine Modernists with a focus on Contemporary California and international ethnic artists. the gallery was one of the earliest to exhibit the art works of African American artists, an organizer of The Los Angeles Art Dealers Association, member of The Black Arts Council, and creator of The La Cienega Boulevard Art Walks.
The rare out of print lithograph print Surrealist exhibition poster measures 16" W X 25 1/4" H. It is printed on high quality premium paper stock with a subtle wove finish. It is in excellent " like new " vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. It has never been framed. There is some very light minor surface wear.
