An … Read more This bombe chest has gone from blah to spectacular thanks to our local Russian refugee artist who re-imagined it. An otherwise boring piece has now taken on the look of an historic, Old World chest. In addition to the aged look given to the entire surface, the chest has also been embellished with a colorful floral painting across the drawers. There are parcel gilt highlights on the carved skirt, corners, and edges. The chest is solid wood, heavy, and sturdy. It is clearly constructed of oak or a similar dense hardwood. It is surprisingly heavy for a small piece of furniture! The chest measures 24 3/4 inches tall, 24 1/2 inches wide, and 14 inches deep. The size makes it suitable as an occasional table, an end table, or a bedside night stand. See less
