TALES FROM THE SEA

A soothing and tranquil mid-century semi-abstract seascape, executed in oil onto board.
This composition captures the serene beauty of a coastal landscape at low tide. In the foreground, we can discern boats in the sand, and in the background, the ocean and sky stretch endlessly into the horizon, creating a sense of infinite calm.
Semi-abstract in nature, realistic details have been intentionally omitted and the painting is characterised by planes of contrasting colours as well as sweeping, fluid brushstrokes.
The artist has used an interesting palette of sandy tones with subtle touches of green and pink, adding a nostalgic, almost dreamlike quality to the piece.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary hessian lined frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
