Cylindrical in shape, this beauty is thoughtfully designed from rattan interspersed with a medley of assorted bent and shaped wooden panels to create the striking vessel you see in the photos. The wood used is indigenous to the Philippines and COULD possibly include molave, banaba, mahogany and balate. The smooth circular cap and ball knob of the upper portion of the lid is also crafted from an exotic wood. The circular worked iron stand (not attached) provides an elegant boost of heigh and is included with the purchase. The interiors of both the vessel and lid have been covered in a black wood-based pitch to provide structural integrity so that the vessel can last a lifetime. Photos were taken in the round to show the varying shades and nuances of the vessel. It measures as follows:

In excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. Of note, there is a slight space between one of the rattan weavers in the lid (see photo 8) that is a result of its handcrafted nature and in no way affects it utility or beauty. It hails from the Philippines; handcrafted by an unknown maker. Substantially-sized, this Boho chic beauty is a striking statement maker that will play well with just about any design style.
