France, 19th century, exceptionally executed in luxurious Baroque taste, almost certainly commissioned for and originally part of a Catholic church, this repurposed building element now mounted on a substantial white painted domed cylindrical base and fashioned into a highly decorative sculptural object / display pedestal / torchiere floor candle stand, or potentially mounted as an electrified floor lamp / jardiniere plant stand or whatever else you can imagine!

Condition:
Overall great antique condition with warm rich patina and brilliant luster. Later base. Likely regilded. Very strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Wear consistent with age, use, handling & exposure. Some fading, discoloration and surface fissures to base. Nothing that detracts from the aesthetics or functionality, but only adds to the authenticity, sophisticated antique character, charm, elegant warmth, and unique rich historical interest!
