Made in italy by the lev & lev company between 1960 and 1970, this armchair is the manifesto of that trend born during the 70s, and now cool again, of modular sofas with low, wide and comfortable seats, of which the design italiano can boast perhaps the most beautiful models produced by b&b, 1p and cassina. The model of this takes its name from an italian island: panarea. Panarea is an island like our armchair but with its islets and rocks it constitutes a microarchipelago between lipari and the island of stromboli in the largest archipelago of the aeolian islands in the province of messina. You can have an island of solitude and relaxation within your living room, or decide to bring other pieces closer to it to create your own archipelago. This lounge chair is made of a fake leather very similar to real leather, widely used in the 70s, unlike leather it allowed the creation of curved and sinuous shapes and this splendid pleated effect of the fabric. The armchair is in original vintage condition. The upholstery is intact and with a splendid patina. 2 rings sewn to the body of the armchair are missing (as visible in the photo) which had the function of blocking the seat cushion to the body of the structure, but the weight of the cushions is so high that they do not move despite their absence rings. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
