The interior is decorated with a finely carved, large, Shou character flanked by two, five clawed dragons amid flames which envelop the imagery below as well. A depiction of Qilu Luohan with two deer standing beneath a pine tree within a circular inset adorns the top of the Shou character. Below the Shou character is a finely carved, Buddhist offertory basket decorated with two bands of cloud and thunder meanders and a band of intertwining vines, holding fruits, flowers and lucky coins, with the Taoist Pearl of Wisdom and the Buddhist Endless knot above it at the center. The interior rim is has a band of stylized lingzhi. The exterior is black lacquer covered with a very fine, small pattern craquelure. A Xu Hua Tang Cang, Qianlong place mark is carved to the center of the exterior base. Circa late 19th century to early Republic of China era. The Traditional. Chinese hongmu stand is included.
