Original studio label on bottom, … Read more Vintage mid 20th century large footed pottery tureen by Joel Edwards (1923 - 2007) California. Original studio label on bottom, espresso brown and ochre matte glaze, swirling abstract decoration and glazed interior. Well known Californian potter he studied at the Brooklyn Museum School in Brooklyn, New York and MFA Otis Art Institute (now Otis College of Art and Design) in Los Angeles, California. Edwards was a student of Peter Voulkos at Otis. He also studied under Marguerite Wildenhain and Soji Hamada. Excellent condition. See less
