Crafted in France circa 1950, the tall cylindrical stand features a beautifully hand-painted pastoral landscape in rich cobalt blue against a soft white background.

The decorative scene depicts a shepherd guiding his flock of sheep through a wooded landscape, surrounded by slender trees, delicate foliage, and rolling hills. The silhouettes of the shepherd and animals create a striking contrast against the lighter background, while subtle cloud formations add depth and atmosphere to the composition. The continuous decoration wraps around the vessel, offering a picturesque view from every angle.

The stand features a gently flared opening, ideal for holding umbrellas, walking sticks, or canes. Signed "Gédé" on the underside, the French porcelain piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining its rich blue and white colors and glossy glazed finish.

Both practical and decorative, this charming Mid-Century umbrella stand would make a wonderful addition to a French country home, ranch, or hunting lodge.
